Iranian documentary ‘Poets of Life’ directed by Shirin Barghnavard has been scheduled to compete in four international festivals in Turkey, Austria and Germany.
The 73-minute doc will attend two Austrian film festivals including Iranian Film Festival in Vienna on October 6th and Innsbruck International Film festival on October 11th, 2017.
‘Poets of Life’ will as well go on screen at the Bozcaada International Festival of Ecological Documentary held October 11-15 in Turkey and the International Women’s Film Festival Koblenz held October 27-31 in Germany.
Poets of Life’ is about Shirin Parsi who returns to Iran and begins rice farming after receiving a BA in French literature from the University of Paris. Her family promotes sustainable farming and refrains from using chemical pesticides and fertilizers.
In a region where more and more farmers are selling their farms at very cheap prices to developers, her family produces 100% organic rice.
This film follows her efforts to bring about social and environmental change.
